Urban Decay Smoked: Plum Smoky Eye

Plum Smoky Eye

Hi y’all! I’ve been getting you ready for this moment for a few days now…my fall runway inspired plum smoky eye.  So far I’ve done tutorials for matte nude nails (without a special top coat) and a voluminous side braid, but I’ve saved the best for last.  Switch it up and stay on trend this fall by creating dark, dramatic smoky eyes using plum and navy.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial!  I’ve entered it in the You Generation Make Up Competition that’s going on right now, so be sure to pop on over and check out my video on their channel.  And say some prayers for me! :)

Plum Smoky Eye

As you well know if you’ve been following me for a while, I love to put a twist on a classic smoky eye by adding some color.  Playing around with colored smoky eyes is one of my favorite things, and it doesn’t have to be scary or intimidating.  This is a great example of how you can rock a fun color without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.

I was a little nervous while I was filming this look because I knew I had to edit it down to 5 minutes (as per the competition rules).  I wanted to really walk all of you through this look and share all of my tips and tricks, but yikes!  5 minutes seemed so short, and I wanted to have a short intro so that a little of my personality could shine through.  So by the end, I was needing to let off a little steam and energy, and this is what happened.  Enjoy.
