Happy New Year’s Eve!! While everyone is getting all dolled up to go out, I thought I’d share what I’m doing to get ready for the last night of 2012. New Year’s is such a fun time to get dressed up and add some sparkle to your makeup and your outfit. Since I’ll be wearing either this black sequin tank or some sequin shorts, I wanted to keep my makeup subtle, but still incorporate a little glitter. This gold glitter cat eye is the perfect NYE look if you want to stray from the typical bold smoky eye. My black and gold mood is so fitting for this fun-filled holiday, don’t you think?

I also wanted to adapt my mani pedi to my black and gold mood, and of course I found inspiration on Pinterest!! I’ve got a gold glitter dipped mani and a NYE ready pedi to match.
This is the pin that inspired my mani. My mom-in-law got me the Butter London gold glitter polish, West End Wonderland, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Below I’ve given you a step by step tutorial of how you can get this look too!
2. I applied one very thin coat of my Butter London West End Wonderland. I started off painting the tip so that I had very little polish on my brush when I went further down the nail. You only want the glitter to go about halfway down. To get a more scattered look, I turned my brush on its side and used it to create random streaks of glitter.
3. Next I applied a second coat of glitter, starting about halfway down my first coat. This will create an ombre effect with the glitter. This coat should be applied normally, but don’t stress if it’s not perfect or completely covering the tip. It’s supposed to be organic looking.
4. One thick coat of Seche Vite later and you’re done!!! If you’ve got a few particles of glitter that have dried over the edge of your nail, gently buff them away after the glitter coats have dried, but before the top coat.
I literally went out and bought a pack of metallic Sharpie’s the day after I pinned this. I decided NYE was the perfect opportunity to experiment with a little nail art on my toes!
4. I finished off my toes with a coat of Seche Vite to set the polish and the Sharpie. I let the Sharpie dry a little because I didn’t want the writing to smudge. My toes are now ready to celebrate the new year!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my New Year’s tutorials!!! Have an amazing night and cheers to the New Year!!! 2013, here we come!! I’ll leave you with a New Year’s kiss from me to all of you!
