Review & Swatches | VMV Hypoallergenics Makeup

VMV Cosmetics | glowofgrace

“100% All-Types-Of-Fragrance-Free. 100% Dye-Phthalate-Paraben + Preservative-Free. Non-Comedogenic. Non-Drying. Non-Darkening. Usage + Patch-Tested.”  That statement is generally not what you find on most cosmetics.  VMV Hypoallergenics is a brand that was recently introduced to me, and while I’ve not had very good luck with more natural products in the past, I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by these few items.  That’s not to say that these products are 100% all natural and organic, but the ingredients list is mighty small and the lack of dyes, parabens, preservatives, allergens, etc. is extremely comforting.

Let’s talk packaging for a moment before we jump into the products themselves.  The blush and bronzer are housed in basic white packaging with sturdy snap closures that isn’t super fancy, but gets the job done. There is a mirror in each compact which is always a nice addition.  You’ll notice in the photo above that they both also came with a zippered, suede box.  I’m assuming it’s faux since they do mention that their products aren’t tested on animals, but I can’t actually confirm that.  It’s definitely a luxury touch, but also an unnecessary one.  They’re much too bulky to actually use on an everyday basis, but I will definitely repurpose these for jewelry storage when traveling!  The lipstick is pretty standard and comes in a nice, mirrored tube.

Tarte-a-Tan Antioxidant Bronzing “Coco” Powder – $40VMV Bronzer

This is a warm, medium bronze with a hint of gold micro-shimmer and is great for adding a bit of color to the face.  However, because of the shimmer and very warm tones, I wouldn’t recommend it for contouring.  The formula is nicely pigmented and quite buttery, but just a little powdery.  Be sure to tap any excess off your brush before applying and you’ll be good to go! (Swatched below.)

Skin Bloom Blush (Rosebud) – $40
VMV Blush
This is a gorgeous mid-toned, neutral, rose pink with micro-shimmer.  It’s definitely a shade that would flatter all skin tones!  Also slightly powdery and a little drier feeling than the bronzer, but this blush has great pigmentation and makes for the perfect natural flush.  While this shade is not completely dye-free, they do have others that are. Velvet Matte Lipstick (Babe) – $24
VMV Lipstick

How fun is this color?!  It’s a beautiful matte corally-pink that just screams SPRING!  In fact, it was my lipstick choice in my recent Top 5 Spring Lip Products video.  Although this is a matte lippy, the velvet part is what really stands out to me.  Unlike most matte lipsticks, it’s not at all drying and feels extremely creamy on the lips.  It also has really nice buildable coverage that helps prevent bright colors like this from getting too overwhelming.

VMV Lipstick Swatch

Overall, I’ve really been enjoying all of these products, although I’ll definitely get the most use out of the lipstick and the blush. They’re a little on the pricey side, but I’m happy to find a more natural, hypoallergenic brand that I like.

Have you ever tried anything from VMV Hypoallergenics?  Will you be trying them out in the future?

Best & Blessings,
Rachel
